The law of attraction has been around for many years. Its practitioners include Napoleon Hill, Helena Blavatsky, and Jerry and Esther Hicks. But who first developed the idea? And how did it become so popular? It was first introduced by Napoleon Hill in the 1930s.

Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill is credited with discovering the law of attraction and popularizing it. He spent time studying successful people and documenting their traits. From these studies, he came up with a series of universal laws that govern success. These laws are based on the law of attraction and are considered the foundation of personal development. His 1937 book Think and Grow Rich is one of the best-selling paperback business books of all time.

Napoleon Hill attributed his discoveries to his study of the world’s richest people and found a common thread among them. His study of wealthy people led him to discover that the law of attraction governed everyone’s destiny. He could not even identify any specific instance where the law of attraction did not apply!

Napoleon Hill further elaborated on this formula by suggesting that people create a mastermind group to further strengthen the power of visualizations. He recommended that these groups comprise six to seven people, and he said that harmony is important for the group’s evolution and productivity. Hill also emphasized the importance of having a clearly defined objective. Without a clear goal, success will be hard to achieve.

Napoleon Hill’s book based on the principles he shared was a huge success, selling over eight million copies. Today, it remains one of the most popular self-improvement books in history.

Helena Blavatsky

Helena Blavatsky was the first person to mention the law of attraction. In the second half of the 19th century, Blavatsky published a book called Isis Unveiled, which detailed the power of attraction in the universe. Blavatsky’s work helped lay the foundation for the modern study of the law of attraction.

Helena Blavatsky was born in Russia to a noble family and was a prominent figure in the occult community. She traveled extensively, studying the occult and metaphysical lore. She also traveled to many different lands, including Tibet, in search of hidden knowledge. She later came to New York and founded the Theosophical Society.

Helena Blavatsky was an influential figure in the history of the world. Her book Isis Unveiled published in 1878, criticized the science and religion of the day, and claimed that “mystical experience is the only way to attain spiritual insight.” Her book attracted the attention of many people. However, after 1879, her Theosophical Society membership began to dwindle. In 1880, Blavatsky and Olcott went to India. They established their headquarters at Adyar and began publishing a journal called The Theosophist. Their work has had an impact on many writers, including Gandhi and Yeats.

Jerry and Esther Hicks

Though they did not invent the law of attraction, in 1996, Jerry and Esther Hicks made a major breakthrough when they came across the law of attraction. They believe that our thoughts create our reality and that we can use the law of attraction to attract the things we want. The Hicks have been teaching this method to thousands of people for two decades. Esther used to be a chiropractor before she began teaching the law of attraction. She is also known as the “Master of Intuition.”

The Abraham-Hicks couple’s workshop helped launch a highly successful organization. While the law of attraction is widely considered a successful technique, it’s worth noting that it has its roots in the New Thought Movement. In fact, many of the great teachers of history have alluded to this law. But until now, no one has explained it clearly and practically.
