#1 Selfpause - App Review

Selfpause is available on iOS and Android and is one of the newer positive affirmation apps on the market. The app has a very modern design and user experience and features a smooth app flow and has the most features of any affirmation app currently on the market

The app is great for writing affirmations and allows you to sort your written affirmations by category. In addition to unlimited self-written affirmations, Selfpause allows you to record unlimited affirmations and organize these into categorized playlists.

Selfpause is one of the very few affirmation apps that offers professionally recorded affirmations in all of their categories. You will also have the option to switch between different voice accents and genders that are speaking the affirmations.

The app includes the option to receive push notifications and to set a custom time for these reminders.

The app has an extensive meditation music library and an HD nature sounds library. These libraries can be listened to on their own for more freestyle meditations or in the background of personal and professionally recorded affirmations.

Selfpause ranks very highly for its ability to write your own affirmations, record unlimited affirmations, and sort your favorite affirmations by category. In addition, Selfpause has the biggest library of professionally recorded affirmations, meditation music, and nature sounds of any manifestation app on the market today. This is a great app for getting inspired with new affirmation ideas and manifesting those ideas with little to no budget.

#2 ThinkUp - App Review

ThinkUp is considered one of the more up-and-coming affirmation apps and is available on iOS and Android. The app is popular for the basic affirmation writing and recording functionality but is often criticized for only offering 3 affirmations for free and requiring you to upgrade to premium for more.

The app has a modern and simple design and does the job of writing and recording affirmations quite well. The app has the ability to play meditation music but not natural sounds in the background of affirmations. They offer one meditation track for free and five are offered with a premium subscription.

ThinkUp has the option to add each individual affirmation into a playlist and listen to your affirmations by playlist. In addition to this, they have dozens of affirmation categories for pre-written affirmations. You can still only click on three of the pre-written affirmations before paying for the premium subscription.

Unfortunately, the app does not have the option to listen to pre-recorded affirmations and the user is left to listen to their own voice or only read affirmations.

ThinkUp offers two push notifications reminders a day. These notification times can be scheduled but please note that the notifications come in the form of auto-playing music and affirmations. If you are in a meeting at the moment you scheduled the notification your phone will start auto-playing which can be a bit disruptive depending on the circumstance.

The app does not have a meditation music library independent of the one used to play background music for affirmations. It also does not have any sort of nature sounds library.

ThinkUp is a good app for writing affirmations, being inspired by pre-written affirmations, and recording affirmations in your own voice. Unfortunately, you can only write and record 3 affirmations for free unless you want to pay for a premium subscription.

#3 I am - App Review

I am is available on iOS and Android and is one of the older positive affirmation apps on the market. Because they have been on the market longer than most apps they have amassed over 300K reviews (mostly positive) on the app store.

The design of the app has recently been updated to feel more modern and fresh. You can read pre-written affirmations (we did see a few big spelling and grammar typos in these) by swiping.

The app offers pretty good functionality for sorting your favorite affirmations into one folder. The app is also good for sharing affirmations you write on social media with a simple social share button integrated into the affirmation slide.

Unfortunately, if you would like to have the affirmations read to you the only option they provide is a robot voice that makes relaxing and focusing very difficult.

I am, does offer push notification reminders but unfortunately, you can not choose what time of day they come. This makes scheduling them impossible and you are left to be surprised and slightly bombarded with their auto 10 affirmation notifications a day.

The app does not have a meditation music library or a nature sound library.

The app is good for swiping through affirmations but it’s not very good for more general affirmation/meditation purposes such as a way to write, record, and listen to your affirmations.

#4 Mantra - App Review

Mantra is available on iOS and Android. However, it is essentially a copy of the app I Am.

The design of the app is pretty good and feels modern. You can read pre-written affirmations but its library is still pretty limited.

The app offers pretty good functionality for sorting affirmations into one folder (similar to I Am). The app is also good for sharing affirmations on social media.

Mantra does offer push notification reminders. However, they are not very customizable, which leaves it feeling somewhat impersonal.

The app does not have a meditation music library or a nature sound library. Instead, you are left to use YouTube or some other source of background sounds at the same time which can be kind of clunky.

The app is good for swiping through affirmations. Essentially, it is pretty much a watered-down version of I Am and it does not have professionally recorded affirmations.

#5 Affirm It - App Review

Affirm It is a relatively new app on the market and is available on iOS and Android. Because they have not been around for very long they have very few reviews but they do have a lot of great features that other Law of Attraction apps do not have.

The design of the app is fresh and modern like the other apps previously mentioned. While the app does have a lot of features a lot of the functionality behaves more like a website (PDF popups, limited functionality of the play screen, etc.) than an app.

Affirm It offers users a great way to write down their own affirmations and sort affirmations into categories. What the app does not have however is a way to record your own affirmations.

One of the best features of the app (something most affirmation apps do not have) is the option to listen to professionally recorded affirmations. These are sorted into different categories and are more like affirmation meditation sessions than simply categorized affirmations. Unfortunately, the app does not have the ability to play different music in the background of the affirmations.

Affirm It does not have a library of different meditation tracks or relaxing nature sounds. When listening to their pre-recorded affirmations there is no option to change the voice to different speakers.

The app does not offer push notifications or any way to remind yourself to listen to affirmations so you will have to rely on your memory for that.

This app is good for listening to select lists of categorized professionally recorded affirmations. There is not a lot of customization to be done with the voice, background, music, or nature sounds. You can write your own affirmations but you can not record your own affirmations.  All in all this app give a similar experience to listening to affirmation albums on Spotify but does not have a simple way to record and listen to your own affirmations.
